Peaceful Protests turn Violent
Some say, “When will the George Floyd protesters stop?
Haven’t we had enough with the virus and quarantine”?
There is still plenty of energy and vehemence in the crowds and their message.Haven’t we had enough with the virus and quarantine”?
Four Hundred Years of broken hearts come to the forefront of our minds.
The thoughts, the grief caused by so many seen and unseen atrocities, as well as daily indignities, are now keeping us awake at night.
2020’s COVID 19 lockdown - ‘slowdown,’ has given us all more time to think about what is meaningful in our beliefs.
Disgust sparked by another horrible public execution at the hands of our protectors.

Our shared experience is that of mass unemployment, coupled with no outlets to calm emotions.
We have no sports, no church, no dinner dates, and no gyms.
Blacks are infected and more likely to die from the virus.
These percentages have something to do with the differences between the haves and the have nots.
At this time now we have the time to think without distractions.
We don’t have to be at work, we have time to stand up and make these most vital statements.
Edmund Burke nailed it when he said,
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
I pray the protester’s message is HEARD!
This movement is not about violence.
The violence sometimes erupts from passion.

Reading Proverbs 24 reminded me of that story.
If you do nothing in a difficult time,
your strength is limited.
Rescue those being taken off to death,
and save those stumbling toward slaughter.
If you say, “But we didn’t know about this,”
won’t He who weighs hearts consider it?
Won’t He who protects your life know?
Won’t He repay a person according to his work?
